Toastmasters creates an organized and welcoming environment where you can practice you speaking skills without judgement. I felt really comfortable very quickly since everyone was so friendly and helpful. Furthermore, the feedback you receive is fair but critical, allowing you to improve as you go along. There are also numerous ways you can build your leadership skills. All in all, I would recommend Lambs to Lions to anyone who is looking for an inclusive environment where they can work on their public speaking skills.

At my first Toastmasters meeting, I found the people friendly and very supportive. I was encouraged to participate and realized that I did not have to be perfect and that it was okay to be nervous so long as you stepped up and participated. I started slowly and when I grew a little more confident I felt I could take on leadership roles and contribute more. The speeches and roles allowed to develop my listening, speaking and thinking skills which affected everything else in my life -- the way I handled people and situations. It gave me a sense of self. At Toastmasters you can progress at your own pace towards your goals and build the confidence you have within you -- supported by people who accept you as you are.
